The Thermal 2-Seal™ Wing Nut Anchor is an innovative single-screw veneer tie for metal stud construction. It features a dual-diameter barrel with factory-installed EPDM washers to seal both the insulation face and the air/vapor barrier, and unique Thermal Wings that reduce thermal transfer through rigid insulation.
Key Features:- Dual-diameter barrel with EPDM washers for superior sealing.
- Thermal Wings of steel encapsulated in plastic create a thermal break.
- Accepts 2X-HOOK™ or Seismic 2X-HOOK™ and rotates to align hooks with mortar joints.
- Up to ½" inward adjustability for variable wall thickness.
- 5/16" hex head for easy installation with a standard hex socket.
- Stainless Steel (Type 304): 0.15 W/cm·K
- Plain Carbon Steel (AISI-SAE 1020): 0.52 W/cm·K
- Commercial Zinc: 1.1 W/cm·K
- Use with 9 ga. or 3/16" continuous wire and 2X-HOOK™ Seismic Pintle for seismic zones.
- 2X-HOOK™ tested to 200 lbf tension/compression at 1¼" offset (ACI 530 6.2.2.5.5.4).
- 2X-HOOK™ legs can point up or down.
- Available Sizes (equal to insulation thickness): 5/8", 1", 1½", 2", 2½", 3", 3½", 4", 4½", 5", 5½", 6", 6½"
- Vertical Adjustability: 1¼" or 2¼"
- Pre-drill a 5/32" (4 mm) hole 2" (51 mm) deep into metal studs.
- Recommended spacing: 16" × 16".
- Requires 2-Seal™ Chuck Adapter for installation.
